May 19th, 2011

Guess I set my sites higher then I could reach. My intention was to start a day by day blog. Guess that isnt really all that realistic. well to update on my last blog post: I have been working on alot of projects. currently not too bogged down with too many projects. Just took on another persons alterations for her skirts. lots to do on that, but have taken  a brake. With my husband comming home soon from deployment I have plenty domestic duties to attend to (as much as i cant stand it).
As far as craft projects, I have done a baby dress, a tutu (for the first time), a friend wanted to learn to do her own skirt(converted from pants), nearly done with the crochet project I am working on (a hobo purse, for my friend who wants to take it on her trip to Isreal). Nearly done with it. Just got to finish making the handle and sew the casing to run the handle through it and it will be done. shouldnt take long. got to do another skirt conversion for the one friend that I taught to do her own. I have also made a few bows. Those are really fast and simple. Bought more ribbon for it on sale. So for now, I have stuff to do, but I have a home and family to tend to for now. Got some major cleaning to do, to prepare for the hubby, Got some rearranging for our room. last week I bought a beautiful Antique nightstand set at a local antique shop and Im planning on putting them in our room and a few antique chests (that my son calls treasure chests) that also will need to go in my room. so for now im gonna be pretty busy for a while. Lots of stressers to give to God, and lots of stuff to keep me pretty bussy. Ill post again when i have a minute to gather my thoughts after hubby is home and seattled. probably wont be til after the middle of june, closer to the end. So for now, talk to you all later.

Day 1 (April 18th 2011)

Good Morning New Craft World.
Today is my first day, starting a blog.
What my readers can expect: First I want to make clear that I am new to blogging and semi new to sewing and crocheting and I am really starting to realize how big this can be. I want to start doing alot more. Currently I have taken on a few projects: So far I have made a few skirts from jean pants, pencil, A-line, some with pleats in the back, some with different shades of blue jean and one black one. I have also just a few days ago started trying to do a pillow case dress from scratch for my niece. I was inspired to do that one because I have seen my friend do it and it looked easy and I went to Joannes fabric on a whim and found some really cute and cheap spring design fabic. It only cost me 4 bucks for 2 yards of it so I thought it was a great deal. I also bought some black crape back satin and some wide black elastic band to make a long skirt for my "Hands of Praise" gig for church. I got the idea from one of the girls in the team who already had an adorable skirt like it, only it had a different fabric design. my friend and I just loved the way it flowed and the way it looked when she would move. It looked so fluid, kind of how we are suppose to look when we are performing. So my friend and I bought the fabric and we are almost done with this project from skratch. I am constantly working on making crochet flowers of all sorts of patterns. I REALLY enjoy doing it because its just so convienient to do to do when I am watching my son play or watch tv. I am also working on bows using ribbon, and  flowers using ribbon. And my newest interest is crochet purses, and fabric purses. I have been checking it out online to get some ideas on patterns of bags and so far it makes me super excited to start, but for now I have to go so that I can finish up on my nieces dress. I aso wanted to add that I LOVE antique chicke/ vintage stuff and in the future i want to start adding vintage flare to everything i do. kind of like a theme. I will let you all know how it turns out. I will be updating on you on my future posts.  Right now this post is just to bring all of you up to speed on where i am right now, so we can go from there. I would apprieciate any feedback and questions if you have any.
